It’s Amy here. I just thought I’d leave you a little “catching up” message to explain why I’ve been so lax in posting things recently…
It’s been a busy week - the first “Print Week” of the new semester, and as one of the editors of my uni newspaper, it’s made me verr verr busy… but then I got concussion, so I’ve not really been on top form!
I’m really annoyed, but never mind - I’ll post again properly once I get back from London this weekend!
Thank you all for sticking by us - and remember to do our lovely blogger challenges :)
Thank you all for your marvellous ideas! We love getting your emails and hearing how much you like the campaign.
If you have a nosey at our press release (scroll down a bit and it’s embedded) you’ll see that we’re already hoping to run a fashion shoot - but we have to get our acts together fast because I’m planning to move to Australia (!!) at the end of June!
That’ll be the fourth tv show of theirs to ask me to do something for them in a year. no joke. am i listed as the “go-to blogger for fashion based anger” or something?!
anyway, this time it was the producer of (joy of joys) embarrassing bodies who wanted me. because i am a person in the fashion industry with psoriasis. she says:
“we are working on the new series and putting together a feature about people with chronic conditions who do something extraordinary with their lives regardless of what they go through. for example so far we have created films on someone with cerebral palsy who is a comedian, someone who is a paraplegic who is a mouth painter, someone with treacher collins who is a sign language teacher etc. i am looking for someone who has severe and visual psoriasis who might work in a very ‘image obsessed’ industry such as fashion to share with us and struggles they may have had, stigmas they have over come and any social prejudices”
well, I’m not embarrassed of my psoriasis and it’s not a stigma.
if the programme’s title wasn’t embarrassing bodies it might be worth talking to me about it, but as it isn’t… really?!
she’s phoning me tomorrow so i can tell her how much i disapprove of this.
This is a post from Amy’s tumblr just now. She’s not too happy. As you can imagine.
